Scriptures: Psalm 49, 84, 85, 87 |
These psalms lift our eyes from temporary things to what truly lasts. Psalm 49 reminds us that wealth, status, and success cannot secure our future. No amount of achievement can redeem a life or hold back death. God exposes what cannot save so we are not fooled into trusting it. What the world builds cannot last, but what God offers reaches beyond this life.
Psalm 84 shifts the focus toward longing for God’s presence. There is a deep desire to dwell with Him, to be near Him, to find strength in Him. Even the journey toward God becomes a place of blessing. Psalm 85 speaks of restoration, asking God to renew His people again, while Psalm 87 celebrates God’s city as a place where people from every nation are welcomed and counted as belonging. Grace expands outward. God is not only restoring individuals…He is building a people, a community defined by mercy, truth, and belonging.
Thank God that Jesus is the One who redeems what wealth never could, the presence we long for, and the foundation of a kingdom that welcomes people from every place!
