Scriptures: 1 Chronicles 6, Psalm 36, 39, 77–78 |

1 Chronicles 6 highlights the line of the Levites…the ones set apart to serve, lead worship, and care for God’s presence among the people. Their lives were centered around ministry, often behind the scenes, carrying responsibility that wasn’t always visible or celebrated. Grace shows up in our purpose. God assigns roles that matter, even when they don’t draw attention. Faithfulness in what seems ordinary becomes part of something sacred.

The psalms in this reading move through remembering and the struggle. Psalm 36 contrasts human wickedness with God’s unfailing love, reminding us that while sin is real, God’s mercy stretches further. Psalm 39 brings awareness of life’s brevity, encouraging humility and dependence. Then Psalm 77–78 look back, remembering both God’s mighty acts and Israel’s repeated forgetfulness. Grace appears in remembrance. God’s faithfulness remains steady even when His people are not.

Psalm 78 emphasizes passing the story down so future generations will not forget what God has done. Grace is not only experienced…it is meant to be shared. When God’s work is remembered, it strengthens trust. We should always remember that eventually Jesus becomes the center of worship, the fulfillment of God’s mercy, and the ultimate story worth passing on! Where the Levites served in the presence of God, Jesus brings us into that presence fully.

Challenge Question:

Write down one way God has been faithful to you that you don’t want to forget, and one person you can share that story with this week. Then take one step to tell it, allowing Jesus to use your story to strengthen someone else's faith.
