Rest Day |
This week’s readings all revolved around a single question: Who are you trusting? Jeremiah showed people who asked for God’s direction but ultimately followed their fears. Obadiah exposed a nation that trusted in its own strength and security. The Psalms reminded you that while human power is temporary, God’s justice and reign endure forever.
Grace showed up in God’s consistency. People changed. Nations rose and fell. Hearts wandered. But through it all, God remained the same. He continued calling people to trust Him, warning them when they drifted, and reminding them that His purposes would stand no matter what happened around them.
You also saw how Jesus fulfills these themes perfectly. He never acted out of fear, never relied on worldly power, and never used His position for His own advantage. Instead, He entrusted Himself completely to the Father and became a refuge for everyone who places their trust in Him.
Today is an opportunity to pause before moving forward. Don’t just ask what you’ve read over the past week. Ask what God has been growing in you through it. Scripture is not simply information to accumulate. It is an opportunity to become more like Christ.
Reflection Questions:
Looking back over this week’s readings, where have you seen fear, pride, or self-reliance surface most clearly in your own heart?
What has God been inviting you to trust Him with that you’ve been hesitant to surrender?
