Rest Day |

This week marked the end of one season and the beginning of another. Lamentations taught you how to grieve with hope, and Ezekiel reminded you that God’s presence is not limited by broken places. The people were in exile, the temple was gone, and life looked nothing like they had imagined. Yet God still spoke. He still called. He was still with them.

Grace showed up in His presence. The greatest promise was not that circumstances would immediately improve, but that God had not abandoned His people. Even in a foreign land, beside a river far from home, His glory appeared. Exile could not keep Him away from those who belonged to Him.

You also saw how Jesus fulfills that promise perfectly. He entered our broken world, walked among people in their suffering, and promised never to leave those who follow Him. No season, failure, disappointment, or distance can separate us from His presence.

As you rest today, remember that God often does some of His deepest work in seasons we never would have chosen. The places that feel like detours may become the very places where we know Him most deeply.

Reflection Questions:

Where have you experienced God’s presence in a place or season where you least expected to find Him?

Looking back over the past few weeks of reading, what theme has God continued to bring before your heart?
