Rest Day |

This week brought together two very different voices, but they carried the same opportunity. Habakkuk wrestled with questions he could not answer. Joel called a broken nation to return. Jeremiah spoke to a people who had slowly drifted from the God who loved them. Through each book, God revealed that He is not threatened by honest questions, wasted years, or wandering hearts.

Grace showed up in His pursuit! Whether His people were confused, complacent, or rebellious, God’s first instinct was not to abandon them but to call them back. He met Habakkuk with reassurance, Joel with promises of restoration, and Jeremiah with persistent love. Again and again, His message was the same: “Return to Me.”

You also saw how Jesus fulfills each of these themes. He is the answer to our deepest questions, the restorer of what sin has damaged, and the One who establishes a new covenant that cannot be broken. He does not simply point us back to God…He brings us into relationship with the Father through Himself.

Reflection Questions:

What truth has God repeated to you most often over the past week of reading? Why do you think He keeps bringing you back to it?

Where have you been asking God to change your circumstances, while He may be inviting you to change your heart instead?
