Rest Day |
This week followed God’s people from dramatic rescue into everyday dependence. You watched the sea open, enemies fall away, and freedom begin...only to discover that faith is tested just as much after deliverance as before it. Fear, hunger, weariness, and leadership strain all showed up quickly. But in every moment, God remained present, and grace showed itself not only in miracles, but in provision, patience, and wise boundaries meant to sustain His people for the long journey ahead.
You also saw how closely this story mirrors our own. God rescues, then teaches us how to live free. He provides daily bread, living water, and strength when our hands grow tired. Most importantly, you saw how Jesus fulfills this
pattern...the One who makes a way, walks with us in the wilderness, and tells us to rest instead of carrying everything alone.
Use today to slow your pace. Revisit the moments that stood out most to you this week. Notice where God’s grace met fear, where provision followed complaint, and where help came through others rather than instant solutions.
Reflection Questions:
Where did you see God’s grace most clearly after deliverance rather than during it? How does recognizing Jesus as your companion in the wilderness, not just your rescuer from bondage, influence the way you think about rest, trust, and daily dependence right now? What can you thank Him for today?
