Rest Day |

This week was filled with both warning and hope. Isaiah and Micah exposed pride, injustice, misplaced trust, and empty religion, yet neither book stopped there. Again and again, God lifted His people’s eyes beyond their failures and toward His promises. Even in seasons of darkness, a greater light was coming.

Grace showed up in that tension! God spoke hard truths because He loved His people, not because He had abandoned them. Every warning carried an opportunity. Every exposure of sin pointed toward restoration. Every reminder of judgment was balanced by the promise that God was still working out a larger story of redemption.

You also saw how Jesus stands at the center of those promises. He is the light Isaiah foresaw, the King of peace Micah anticipated, and the answer to humanity’s deepest need. What the prophets described from a distance, we now see fulfilled in Christ!

Rest today by focusing less on what is broken and more on the One who is restoring. God is not only aware of the darkness in the world and in our lives…He has already begun overcoming it through Jesus.

Reflection Questions:
Where have you seen God bring hope into a difficult situation in your life?

What promise about Jesus has encouraged or strengthened you the most during this week’s reading, and why?
