Scriptures: Psalm 97-99 |

These psalms declare one clear, unshakable truth…God reigns. Not someday, not eventually, but now. Psalm 97 paints a picture of His authority over all creation, where even the earth responds to His presence. Psalm 98 celebrates His victory and salvation, inviting all people to rejoice. Psalm 99 shows a God who is holy, but also responsive when His people call. Grace shows up in authority. God is actively ruling with power.

What stands out is the balance between our reverence and relationship. God is exalted, holy, and worthy of awe, but He also listens, answers, and forgives. These psalms don’t reduce God to something small enough to manage…they lift Him high enough to trust completely. The same God who reigns over everything is attentive to individual hearts.

There is also a call to respond. Worship is active, joyful, and intentional. The psalms call us to clapping, singing, and declaring who God is. Grace is meant to be expressed, not just understood! When God’s authority is recognized, worship becomes the natural response.

All of this points clearly to Jesus, our King who reigns with authority and draws near with compassion. Where these psalms declare God’s rule, Jesus embodies it fully.

Challenge Question:
Write down one area of your life where you’ve been feeling uncertainty or lack of control. Then acknowledge Jesus as King in that area, responding with trust and worship instead of worry.
