Scriptures: 1 Chronicles 27–29, Psalm 68 |

These chapters feel like the closing scene of a long, faithful life…because it is. David organizes leaders, resources, and responsibilities, then turns everything over to Solomon. There is a sense of completion…not because
everything is finished, but because everything is prepared for the next chapter. David knows his role, and he releases it with open hands. Grace shows up in surrender at the finish. Finishing well is not about holding on…it is about trusting God with what comes next.

In 1 Chronicles 29, David leads the people in generosity and worship. But notice his perspective…everything they give already belongs to God. Their offering is not loss…it is participation. Grace appears in perspective. When we
recognize that everything comes from God, giving becomes joy instead of obligation.

Psalm 68 celebrates God as victorious, powerful, and compassionate…the one who leads His people, defends the vulnerable, and carries burdens daily. Strength and tenderness exist together in Him. Grace is found in that balance. God is not only mighty enough to lead, but kind enough to care genuinely for each person!

What ties this together is trust across generations. David prepares, the people respond, and God remains the center. Grace is not just about what God does in one life…it is about how His faithfulness continues beyond it.

Jesus is the King who leads perfectly, the one who gives fully, and the one who carries us daily. Where David releases the kingdom, Jesus establishes one that will never end.

Challenge Question:
Write down one area where you’ve been holding on tightly…a responsibility, a role, or an outcome. Then write down one thing God has entrusted to you that you can give back to Him with joy. It’s time to release control in one area and respond with generosity in another, trusting Jesus with both!
