Scriptures: 1 Kings 1–2, Psalm 37, 71, 94 |

These chapters mark the official transition from David to Solomon…a passing of leadership, legacy, and responsibility. There is unfinished business as David gives final instructions and Solomon steps into his role. It is not a clean, simple handoff…it carries complexity, justice, and weight. Grace shows up in godly transitions. God’s plan continues, even when leadership changes and the moment feels uncertain.

Psalm 37 speaks directly into that kind of season…“Do not fret because of evildoers.” It calls for patience, trust, and faith instead of anxiety or comparison. Psalm 71 adds the voice of someone who has walked with God over time, asking Him to remain near into the future. Psalm 94 cries out for justice, but also remembers the truth that God sees and will act. Grace appears in stability over time. Whether at the beginning, middle, or end of a season, God remains consistent.

What stands out is the long view. Leadership shifts, circumstances change, and justice may feel delayed…but God is not absent from any of it. Grace is not rushed…it unfolds over time. Faith is not built in one moment, but across a lifetime of trusting God through every transition.

But Jesus is the King who does not pass away, the one whose leadership never shifts or fades. Where human leadership changes, Jesus remains constant.

Challenge Question:
Write down one transition or change you are currently walking through, and one area where you’ve been tempted to compare or worry. Now it’s time to trust Jesus in that transition, focusing on His faithfulness rather than your uncertainty.
