Scriptures: 2 Samuel 13–15 |

These chapters are heavy…pain, betrayal, silence, and rebellion all unfold within David’s own family. The consequences of earlier sin ripple outward in ways that are heartbreaking and complex. Amnon’s actions, Absalom’s revenge, and David’s passive response create a cycle where brokenness grows deeper instead of being healed. Grace shows up here in a warning to us. Sin is never isolated…it spreads, affecting relationships, leadership, and generations.

By chapter 15, Absalom’s rebellion rises to the surface. What began as unresolved pain turns into calculated division. He wins the hearts of the people and positions himself against David. The division is no longer private…it becomes public. But even here, David responds with humility rather than force. He leaves Jerusalem, entrusting the outcome to God instead of clinging to power. Grace appears in surrender. Even in loss and betrayal, David chooses to trust God’s authority over his own.

Think about how fragile leadership becomes when wounds go
unaddressed…silence creates space for bitterness, and unresolved issues grow into larger fractures. Grace is not just about forgiveness…it is about confronting what needs healing before it spreads. These chapters remind us that what is left in the dark never stays contained.

All of this is addressed in Jesus. Where broken families and flawed leaders create cycles of pain, Jesus steps in as the true King who brings healing, truth, and restoration. He does not ignore sin or wounds…He addresses them fully. Have a wonderful Savior!

Challenge Question:
Write down one area in your life where something has been left
unaddressed…a conflict, hurt, or pattern. Then choose one intentional step this week to bring it into the light with Jesus, asking Him to begin healing what has been ignored.
