Scriptures: Leviticus 26–27 and Numbers 1–2 |

Leviticus 26 lays out blessings and consequences with precise language. God speaks honestly about what life looks like when His people walk closely with Him…and what happens when they do not. To be clear, this is not God threatening abandonment, but God teaching cause and effect within relationship. Even when consequences are named, grace remains present; God promises that if His people return to Him, He will remember His covenant. Discipline is never the end of the story. If you’re breathing, restoration is always possible!

Leviticus 27 then closes the book by emphasizing dedication. Vows, offerings, and commitments matter to God because they reflect the heart. Grace shows up in God’s willingness to receive what people offer, even knowing human promises can be fragile.

Numbers 1–2 may feel like an abrupt shift, but it still reveals something important. God orders His people carefully. Each tribe is counted, named, and given a place. The camp is arranged with God’s presence at the center. God is not leading His people aimlessly, He knows exactly who is with Him, where they belong, and how they are to move forward together.

All of this points us to Jesus. He bears the weight of the covenant’s consequences on our behalf and invites us into covenant blessing through grace. He also gathers people intentionally, calls them by name, and places them within His body with purpose. Where Israel camped around God’s presence, we now live around Christ Himself.

Challenge Question:

Write down one area where God may be asking you to renew commitment or recenter your life around His presence. Then take one specific step this week to place Jesus more clearly at the center of that area.
