Rest Day |
This week held both God’s promise and man’s resistance. You watched God call His people forward, only to see fear harden their hearts and delay what could have been conquered by faith. You also saw something just as important…God never stopped speaking. Even in judgment, He kept pointing ahead. Even in rebellion, He preserved His promise. Grace did not rush the process, but it did not abandon the people either!
Psalm 95 reminded us that the wilderness story is not just history…it is a warning and an offer. God still speaks today. Rest is still offered, but trust is still required. The question is not whether God is faithful, but whether we are willing to listen and respond before fear takes the lead.
Use today to pause and reflect honestly. Sit with where resistance surfaced in your own heart this week. Notice where God has been calling you to trust, obedience, or surrender, and where hesitation may have slowed your response. Rest can be choosing to listen again…if you let it.
Reflection Questions:
Where did you notice your heart resonating with Israel’s fear or resistance this week?
How would you respond differently if you truly believed God’s promise was still ahead of you and Jesus was already leading the way?
