Scriptures: Joshua 11–14 |

Joshua 11 records a series of victories that feel less dramatic than Jericho, but just as important. Battle after battle, the land is gradually taken as the Lord promised. The key phrase repeated is simple…Joshua did everything just as the Lord commanded Moses. Grace always shows up in faithfulness over time. God does not require miraculous moments every day. He honors consistent obedience, even when progress feels slow or ordinary.

Joshua 12 pauses to list defeated kings to remember what God has done. Each name represents a victory that once felt impossible. God wants His people to look back and recognize that the ground they now stand on was once contested, feared, and fought over…but is now theirs thanks to His help.

Joshua 13 and 14 then shift toward the promised land. As the land is divided, boundaries are drawn, and promises move closer to fulfillment. Caleb stands out here because decades after first trusting God, he asks for the same mountain he believed God could give him years earlier. Grace can often be seen in endurance. God honors long obedience and rewards faith that refuses to fade with time.

All of this points us to Jesus who fulfills every promise God has made and secures our inheritance in Him. Where Caleb trusted God for decades, Jesus remains faithful forever.

Challenge Question:

Write down a couple ways you’ve seen God’s faithfulness over a long period of time, and one area where you are tempted to grow weary or settle. Then choose one step you can take this week to keep trusting Jesus with perseverance rather than giving up ground.
