Scriptures: Joshua 15–18 |

These chapters can feel like lists and boundaries, but beneath the geography is a powerful reminder that God keeps His promises down to the smallest detail. The land is being divided exactly as God said it would be. What once felt like “someday” is now being measured, named, and assigned. Grace shows up in fulfillment. God does not forget what He promised, and He does not deliver it vaguely. Every tribe receives what was spoken over them long before.

But Joshua 18 does introduce a surprising situation. Some tribes have delayed taking possession of what God has already given them. The land is available, but they hesitate to move in fully. Joshua challenges them directly, calling out their passivity. Grace actually appears here as confrontation. God does not only give promises…He calls His people to actually step into them. Inheritance requires participation, not just belief.

The tabernacle is also set up at Shiloh, placing God’s presence at the center of the land. This is meant to be a declaration of priorities! Before everything is fully settled, worship is established.

Jesus secures our inheritance completely, but also invites us to walk into it by faith. Where Israel hesitated to take ground already promised, Jesus calls us to trust Him fully and live into what He has already accomplished.

Challenge Question:

Write down one promise, calling, or area of growth you believe God has already given you but you’ve been slow to step into. Then identify one clear, practical action you can take this week to begin living into that inheritance with Jesus.
