Rest Day |

This week Jesus repeatedly challenged the difference between simply being around Him and actually following Him. The disciples saw His glory on the mountain, a blind man received sight, Lazarus walked out of a tomb, and Jesus revealed Himself as the Good Shepherd, the resurrection, and the life. Yet some people surrounded by those same miracles still refused to believe!

Grace can be found in the way Jesus continues pulling people closer. He welcomes imperfect faith, calls the spiritually blind into the light, sits with grieving friends, redirects distracted hearts, and warns people when something is pulling them away from God. Even His difficult words are still invitations to life.

Through all of these readings, Jesus keeps bringing the focus back to the heart. Who are we becoming? What are we treasuring? Are we listening to His voice? Are we merely busy for Him, or are we actually spending time with Him? Following Jesus is not simply seeing what He can do. It is allowing who He is to reshape who we are.

Reflection Questions:

Looking back over this week's readings, what has Jesus exposed or challenged most clearly in your heart?

What is one area where you sense Jesus inviting you beyond knowing about Him into deeper trust and obedience?
