Rest Day |

This week showed us one of the biggest transitions in the entire Bible. Nehemiah rebuilt Jerusalem’s walls, but even restored walls could not fix the deeper problem within God's people. Psalm 106 reminded us how often humanity repeats the same cycle of wandering, while John finally announced the answer: “The Word became human and made his home among us.”

Grace is found in the arrival of Jesus! For months, we have watched God promise, rescue, correct, forgive, restore, and patiently move His story forward. Now the One everything has been pointing toward has stepped onto the page. God did not abandon broken humanity…He entered our story Himself!

Jesus arrives differently than anyone might expect. He enters an imperfect family line, grows up in an ordinary home, and spends years preparing before His public ministry begins. The Savior of the world comes close enough to experience ordinary human life while remaining perfectly faithful where humanity has repeatedly failed.

Reflection Questions:

After reading through the Old Testament, what feels different about encountering Jesus now?

What part of Jesus most clearly reveals God's heart toward you?
